Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response
Last updated: March 18, 2020
Beyond all else, our highest priority is the health and safety of our entire community— staff, clients, volunteers, supporters, and all our neighbors across Minnesota.
Following the model of Governor Walz and his administration, we are taking a phased approach during this time to allow for appropriate planning.
Therefore, starting March 18, Habitat for Humanity of West Central MN will be closed for business through March 31, at the earliest. We will use this time to prepare for future phases beyond March 31. Additional steps will be evaluated and communicated.
The following operations will be suspended from March 18 through March 31:
- All programs and services are suspended through March 31, with very few exceptions.
- All volunteer activities will be canceled through March 31 at the earliest.
- ReStore is closed through March 31 at the earliest.
- Our main office at 2424 1st Street S will be closed through March 31 at the earliest.
We recognize that these are uncharted waters and uncertain times, and appreciate your continued support, patience and trust as we navigate this together. Habitat for Humanity has always been a community-based organization, and we will continue to need to lean on one another to ensure we can support the hardworking families across our region who need it most.
Our Partner Families are already vulnerable; many of them in positions at the forefront of the crisis; those to whom a missed paycheck can mean catastrophe. If you were planning on volunteering, shopping at our ReStore, or supporting Habitat in the next few weeks or months, we strongly encourage you to support our mission through an online donation today.
Thank you for your support!
